Edouard Oganessian studied piano with Boris Schatzkes and Mikhail Voskresensky and organ with Leonid Royzman at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Both instruments have since been inseparable parts of his life as a musician.

He undertook further studies with Leo Krämer and was a prizewinner at the Franz Liszt organ competition in Budapest in 1988. He taught at the National Music Academy in Vilnius until 1990, before moving to live in France.

He has been regularly invited to the Tallinn International Organ Festival since 1987 and performs throughout Europe. His interpretations of Bach, Liszt and Mendelssohn have been acclaimed by French, German, Dutch and Russian audiences and press.

Edouard Oganessian devotes a large part of his activity to recordings and, in addition to his already large repertoire, he enjoys performing rare works of music.
